The installation of a heat pump is eligible for financial assistance in the Rénoclimat, Novoclimat − Maison and Novoclimat − Small multi-dwelling building programs and in the “Transition to dual-energy electricity − natural gas” component of the Chauffez vert program.
Hydro-Quebec also offers a financial assistance program for the installation of a heat pump, under certain conditions.
In the Rénoclimat and Novoclimat programs, the chosen heat pump must be on the list of eligible heat pumps at the time of its installation and all the conditions of the program must be respected.
Amount of financial assistance
The amount of financial assistance varies depending on the heating power in winter conditions of the installed system. The higher the power of the heat pump installed, the greater the financial assistance granted.
Examples:
- An eligible heat pump with a heating power at -8°C of 10,000 BTU/h is eligible for financial assistance of $500.
- An eligible heat pump with a heating power at -8°C of 20,000 BTU/h is eligible for financial assistance of $1,000.
Rénoclimat
The Rénoclimat program begins with a visit to your home by an advisor who will carry out an energy assessment. Its evaluation report will guide you in your residential renovation work to improve the energy performance of your home. You must register for the program and receive a visit from the advisor before starting your work.
New - The Canada Greener Homes Grant also offers financial assistance for the installation or replacement of a heat pump.
Novoclimat Houses or Small Multi-Dwelling Buildings
The Novoclimat program offers financial assistance to the buyer and the contractor if it is a house, or to the developer if it is a multi-dwelling building, for the construction of a new home. with high energy performance approved by Novoclimat.
